Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker, has announced a 22pc increase in sales in March 2015, at 4,577 units. The Volkswagen Polo, which comes fitted with dual front airbags on all variants and is one of the safest hatchbacks in the India, made a significant contribution to the increase in sales in March this year. Successful launches of the new Jetta and Limited Edition Vento Magnific were also major contributors to the increase in sales. All three carlines feature best-in-class safety features and build quality, and have garnered widespread appreciation from customers for their power, performance and driving dynamics, said a press release from the company.
Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “We are happy to note the significant hike in sales in March this year and further aim to continue with the upward trend for rest of the year. The increase in sales underlines the fact that car buyers in India are increasingly appreciative of the key attributes of our cars, which are best-in-class safety, build quality and driving dynamics, which makes our cars very involving to drive. Also increasing level of confidence that our customers now have in our dealer network to provide a consistently world-class experience when it comes to buying and owning a Volkswagen car.”
